Adding hardware to shutters can give them the classic look of true storm shutters. These cedar shutters feature correct pivoting strap hinges, but the “S” hold-back is simply decorative. The shutters are meant to have the look of being operative, but did not need to be. To prevent the shutters from actually pivoting, they were attached to the block wall with Tapcons, and the screw heads are then filled to conceal them. Instead of buying cheap plastic fake shutters, increase the value and look of your home with true wooden shutters.
